Who makes Word Lantern
Word Lantern is made by Miracle FunBox. We make picture-vocabulary apps for beginners on Google Play, including one for each of the 15 languages below. This website is the free part of that work: games you can play in the browser, quick quizzes, and beginner guides you can read without installing anything.

Guides that start from your language
A Turkish speaker and an Arabic speaker don't find the same things hard. That's why many of our guides are written for speakers of one language, in that language:
- Korean for Turkish speakers in Turkish
Both languages put the verb at the end, and the Turkish ı is almost the same sound as Korean ㅡ, the vowel most learners struggle with.
- French pronunciation for Arabic speakers in Arabic
The French R is the غ (ghayn) that Arabic speakers already use. The real work is p versus b, nasal vowels and silent letters.
- Dutch for Indonesian speakers in Indonesian
Indonesian already borrowed everyday words from Dutch: kantor (kantoor), kulkas (koelkast), handuk (handdoek).
